Libraries are investing the time and resources of their staff in teaching information literacy. To support the staff, the University of Western Australia (UWA) Library recently developed a web-based "Skills Training for Information Literacy" programme. As part of the programme, the Librarians were seeking methods for individuals to evaluate their teaching skills and become reflective practitioners. The UWA Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning supports teaching and learning development mainly for staff in academic units. This paper explores why and how this support can be adapted for Librarians, and how a community of librarian teachers was developed. The use of portfolios to encourage professional development and the use of peer feedback for reflective practice are well documented.
