Charles Darwin University is situated in the suburb of Casuarina - a 15 minute drive from the Darwin CBD. Conference buses will ferry participants to and from the CBD at the beginning and end of each day. There are also regular transport buses from the CBD to the University and back. Darwin CBD Map

The keynote addresses will be presented in the Mal Nairn Auditorium. The campus is well sign posted and special HERDSA 2009 signage will direct you to the auditorium. The breakout sessions will be held in Building 6 Red Precinct which is opposite the Mal Nairn Auditorium.

The Reception will be held at 5pm on Monday 6 July at Parliament House which is within walking distance of all CBD based Conference hotels.

Casuarina Shopping SquareWithin a five minute walk of Charles Darwin University is the Casuarina Shopping Square which hosts a large variety of shops and an eatery. 

Casuarina Square is the Northern Territory's premier shopping destination, with over 200 stores in one air-conditioned modern location. Servicing the local community since 1973, Casuarina Square offers customers an extensive selection of stores and services.

With a K-Mart, Big W, Woolworths, Coles and over 170 specialty shops, you’ll be able to find everything you are looking for at Casuarina Square.  The Centre has seven-screen Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinema, and the Centre is supported by an abundance of parking and is serviced 7 days a week by local bus and taxi connections.

A free visitor shuttle bus to Casuarina Sqaure is available for interstate and international visitors staying in Darwin's Central Business District to be ferried to and from Casuarina Sqaure, every day fo the week.  To board the shuttle simply present your out-of-state driver's licence, overseas passport or hotel rooom key.

The Centre hours are:
Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm
Friday 9am - 9pm
Saturday 9am to 5pm
Sunday 10am to 3pm.

In the city of Darwin Mitchel Street houses many enjoyable places to eat.  Coles and Woolworths are also located in the city and the Smith St Mall has plenty of opportunities to find souvenirs.
