The Co-convenors and Organising Committee warmly invite you to submit proposals for HERDSA 2012 under the overarching conference theme of Connections in Higher Education.  The Committee is particularly seeking submissions that explore the policies, research, leadership and student outcomes we should be pursuing in higher education world-wide to establish and sustain connections with the entire sector.

All submissions must relate to the conference theme, Connections in Higher Education and address one or more of the conference sub-themes:
• Creating and sustaining peer connections
• Establishing community connections
• Enriching interdisciplinary connections
• Connections for student success
• Connecting with research

All proposals are to be submitted via the HERDSA 2012 Online PortalThe closing date for all submissions is 20 February 2012, 11.55 pm Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time.  There will be NO extension to this date.

Submissions are accepted on the basis that at least one presenter must register and attend the conference. Each registrant may only be the principal presenter for no more than two presentations; one oral presentation (paper or showcase) and one poster. Co-presenters are allowed, but they must be registered as a minimum for the day of their presentation if they wish to present. Where there are multiple presenters it is important the presentation time is strictly adhered to so enough time is available for discussion.

Prior to submitting proposals, authors will find it helpful to refer to the Information for Reviewers, in particular the section on rating the papers.  Contributions should be original, comply with copyright law, be submitted on the correct template and reflect the Formatting Guidelines relating to format and presentation.

Please note that this year pre-conference workshops are by invitation rather than submission of a proposal.
