Welcome
HERDSA invites you to join us for our Annual HERDSA Conference, taking place from 7–10 July 2025 in Boorloo (Perth) and along the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River) on Whadjuk Noongar Country, Australia.
This year’s theme, Shaping Education: Past, Present, Future reflects our dedication to advancing education by building on past research, engaging with contemporary pedagogies, practices, and trends, and fostering innovative future research initiatives, collaborations, and connections.
The conference will commence with pre-conference workshops and transition into the main program at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, offering a highly interactive and immersive face-to-face experience.
Since its establishment in 1972, HERDSA has been at the forefront of promoting excellence in higher and tertiary education. We support research on teaching and learning, the development of higher education, and the cultivation of robust academic communities. The HERDSA conference plays a crucial role in community-building, welcoming participants from a variety of sectors, including Institutes of Higher Education, University Colleges, Universities, the VET sector, government, community, and industry organisations. We extend our invitation to all individuals passionate about higher education – students, policy-makers, early career researchers, senior leaders, and ‘third space’ professionals.
The streams for HERDSA conference presentations are:
- Governance and policy
- Teaching, learning and the student experience
- Pathways and partnerships
- Innovation and research
- Professional learning for changing academic practices
- Values, justice and integrity
Join us in the vibrant boodjar (lands) of the Whadjuk Noongar people in 2025, and be part of shaping the future of education!
